COLDPLAY: MUSIC OF THE SPHERES
More than 13 million people have attended Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, making it the most-attended concert tour in history. The tour has sold over 13 million tickets across its 225 shows in 43 countries. Its record breaking run culminated in a 10 night run at Wembley Stadium During August 2025.
As Director of Coldplay: Music of the Spheres immersive, together with co-director Ant Barrett, I creatively led the team in collaboration with Coldplay, iHeart and Meta to define what an immersive concert designed to be both standalone and experienced within Meta’s Horizon Worlds should look and feel like.
My role spanned creative direction, detailed planning of camera positions and movement, briefing all crew, live direction on the show nights and ensuring the live action capture of the concert dynamically represented the incredible spectacle of the Music of the Spheres show, while also staying true to Coldplay’s brand.
Shot on a 15 camera set up of 180 degree cameras (12 REDs and 3 Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras for higher resolution and utilizing complex grip including 4 tower cams, 2 railcams, two Steadicams and a Spydercam system) to bring the sights and sounds of the concert to life with stunning clarity, enabling audiences to experience the concert from perspectives that are impossible in real life. The project pushes the boundaries of what concert filmmaking and immersive technology can do, blending intimacy and large-scale spectacle.
Available on Meta Quest from 30th Dec 2025. If you’d like to read more about the project, you’ll find some more in Meta’s blog post here
